Is Moral Enhancement Moral? ..... Moral enhancement is any biomedical intervention that gives someone morally better motives, leading them to act in morally better ways. Ethics in a pill, as it were. But are such interventions themselves moral? And would they really make us morally better people anyway? (ADDED 16/9/25)

Situated Objectivity? ..... A familiar view of objectivity identifies it with the perspective of an impartial and disembodied observer. Donna Haraway criticizes this idea, and argues for a form of feminist objectivity that embraces "partial, locatable, and embodied" perspectives. Could objectivity be situated? (ADDED 23/10/25)

Separate Science from the State? ..... Paul Feyerabend wants to defend society from all ideologies. He includes science, whose dominance inhibits freedom of thought, and whose method and results are over-stated. We must separate science from the state, and so allow all myths to flourish. Is science just another myth? (ADDED 7/8/25)

Are Colors only in the Mind? .... Postboxes are red, and we think remain so when we aren't looking. George Berkeley thought otherwise, that colors (and shapes) exist only in the mind, and that there is no such thing as material substance. So if postboxes exist, they too must only exist in the mind. Could he be right? (ADDED 7/8/25)

Should We All Stop Eating Meat? ..... In order to satisfy the human taste for flesh, billions of animals are slaughtered every year in the world. Many of these animals raised for food never see the light of day, and live in cramped conditions. Is all this suffering really justified, just because they are not human? (ADDED 16/9/25)

Liberal Eugenics? ..... We can now genetically enhance our prospective children. Some are horrified by this eugenic possibility. But, so long as such interventions do not restrict the life options of those prospective children, why would they be wrong? Is this newer, liberal, eugenics acceptable? (ADDED 24/11/25)
